1) Under the "Manage" tab, click "Cirrriculum"
2) Select the grade/content area in which you would like to create the exam. Grade/Content Areas are linked to standards and courses.
3) Click "KIPP NYC Assessments" > Click "New" > Click "New Assessment"
4) Edit assessment details.
- Assessment Title: Add your name to the start to make for easier searching lakter
- Check the box saying you want to attach your own question sheets (This means you will be printing the actual assessment out of word or another application. Global Scholar is generating the answer sheets)
- Max Points: Max Points on the assessment
- Duration: This field is required but not used. You can simply put in 100.
- Click "Next"
5) Choose standards you would like to assess.
- Quickly search for standards by pressing ctrl + f to activate the find bar.
6) Edit individual questions.
- Align standards to questions by clicking "Choose Standards"
- Define what type of question it is.
- For Multiple Choice, select correct response
- For Open-Ended, select "Constructed Response" from the drop down.
- If you want students to write their Open-Ended responses on the test booklets, make this a "single line."
- If you want students to write their Open-Ended responses on the scantrons, choose how much space you would like to provide.
- Assign a point value to each question
7) One last thing! You need to attach your question sheets. Browse for the assessment, and then upload it and click "Next"
8) Click "Finish and Schedule" > Click the circle next to "Paper"
9) Schedule your assessment!
- Fix the "assignment name" to be what you would like.
- Add your class sections by selecting "Add more..." and searching for them.
- Change any formatting options you would like.
After your assessment is scheduled, you will see it listed in the"assignments" tab, and you can print blank answer sheets for your students, view results after uploading, etc.
